What is re-opening and do you need to be vaccinated to visit a shopping centre?

From 19th November (aged 12 years and 2 months and over) double-dose vaccination target eased restrictions will allow:
  • Retail remains open, with no density limits to vaccinated patrons only.
  • Non Essential Retail – for Vaccinated People only: Non-Essential retailers are required to do vaccination checks going forward
  • Personal services such as hairdressing, barbers, beauty therapy and personal care remain open for fully vaccinated people, with no density or capacity limits
  • Gyms and indoor sport venues remain open to fully vaccinated people, with no density or capacity limits
  • Seated & Non-Seated Indoor entertainment venues including cinemas, theatres, music halls, museums and galleries remain open to fully vaccinated people, with no density or capacity limits Restaurants and cafes remain open to fully vaccinated people, with no density or capacity limits. Unvaccinated patrons can access takeaway only. Food courts will remain take away only, with food unable to be consumed indoors.
  • Masks are still required to be worn
All visitors must ensure they check-in to the centre on arrival and at each individual Retailer, Café, Restaurant or Service via QR code using the service Victoria App and provide vaccination status where required.
 

What if visitors are not fully vaccinated?

Visitors aged 12 years and 2 months and over who are not fully vaccinated:
  • From 19th November 2021, visitors who are not fully vaccinated can only access essential retail only.
  • However, they cannot access personal care services, gyms, or indoor entertainment venues.
  • Customers with unknown vaccination status will be able to access cafes and restaurants for take away only
Visitors under the age of 12 years and 2 months who are not fully vaccinated must be with a fully vaccinated member of their household in all venues which require its patrons to be vaccinated.
 
Where can I locate a copy of my vaccination certificate or medical exemption?
Directions on how to locate and download a copy of your vaccination certificate can be found here.
 
If you are medically exempt from becoming vaccinated, you can add your COVID-19 digital certificate for medical contraindication to the Service VIC app.

In line with the Department of Health and Human Services recent announcement that only Tier 1 COVID-19 exposure sites will be listed online from 4 October 2021 onwards, Chirnside Park will continue to follow the Department’s advice and only list Tier 1 exposure details within the centre on our website moving forward. For customers who may receive direct communications from DHHS regarding a potential Tier 2 exposure at Chirnside Park, please continue to follow the directions as advised by DHHS at the time and visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au for further information.

Chirnside Park Centre Management has received notification from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that a positive COVID-19 case attended the centre from 9.54am to 10.30am on Wednesday 22 September. 
 
The affected individual was present at Chirnside Medical Clinic (Tier 1) from 9.55am-10.22am, and Chemist Warehouse (Tier 2) from 10.23am-10.29am.
 
Centre Management continues to monitor the situation, and are following all relevant advice and guidance issued by the DHHS. As advised on the DHHS website, anyone who has visited a Tier 1 exposure site during times listed should urgently get a COVID-19 test and isolate for 14 days, and anyone who has visited a Tier 2 exposure site during the times listed should urgently get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive a negative result.

Chirnside Park Centre Management has received notification from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that Hairhouse Chirnside Park has been listed as a Tier 2 COVID-19 public exposure site from 9.49am to 4.45pm on Wednesday 8 September.
 
Centre Management continues to monitor the situation, and are following all relevant advice and guidance issued by the DHHS. As advised on the DHHS website, anyone who has visited a Tier 2 exposure site during times listed should urgently get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive a negative result.
  
The comfort and safety of customers, tenants, contractors and staff at Chirnside Park remains the utmost priority at all times.

Chirnside Park Centre Management has received notification from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) the centre has been listed as a Tier 2 COVID-19 public exposure site. We have been advised that the affected individual was present at the centre from 2pm to 2:45pm on Thursday 2 September.
 
Centre Management continues to monitor the situation, and are following all relevant advice and guidance issued by the DHHS. As advised on the DHHS website, anyone who has visited a Tier 2 exposure site during times listed should urgently get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive a negative result.
 
As a precautionary measure, the centre has since undergone a thorough deep clean. The heightened cleaning regimes already implemented will remain in place throughout all high traffic areas and the Centre will remain open for trade.
