A New Chapter for Families at Chirnside Park

Chirnside Park Shopping Centre is proud to introduce an exciting new addition for local families, with a dedicated children’s playground set to open in the Food Court precinct from mid-June — marking the final phase of the centre’s $10 million refresh.

Positioned near Aldi, this brand-new space has been thoughtfully designed to create a safe, engaging and weather-proof environment where children can play while parents relax and enjoy the centre’s dining offer. As a first for Chirnside Park, the playground represents a significant step in enhancing the everyday experience for families, providing a welcoming space that encourages connection, convenience and longer, more enjoyable visits.

Construction will commence in late May, with the Food Court seating layout to be permanently reconfigured from this time. Importantly, seating is not being reduced — it is being improved. The previous seating count of 180, which reflected legacy COVID-era spacing, has previously increased to 270 seats, alongside the introduction of a new dedicated 38sqm children’s play area. This redesign has been carefully planned to improve flow, increase capacity and better align with how customers use the space today.

The introduction of the playground builds on the centre’s recently completed refresh, which has transformed Chirnside Park into a more modern, vibrant and customer-focused destination. Alongside upgraded interiors, improved amenities and refreshed dining spaces, the centre continues to evolve its offering with the recent opening of La Cabra in the outdoor dining precinct, Supps 24/7, and the newest Telstra store in Australia, featuring the first Apple concession of its kind nationally.

Further enhancing the customer experience, Bakers Delight and Kmart are also set to undergo refurbishments, bringing refreshed, modern store environments to some of Australia’s most recognised brands. These upgrades reflect Chirnside Park’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and delivering a contemporary retail environment.

This latest addition reinforces Chirnside Park’s position as a destination not only for shopping, but for experiences — creating a place where families can spend more time, more often.
